SIA - Flattened Blue Vase - Geometry as Presence

Some objects need no context to make an impression: they occupy space through the sheer force of their form. The blue flattened vase by SIA is one of them - a presence that commands attention on a shelf, at the center of a dining table, or on a console in the entryway, without ever overpowering its surroundings.

The Flattened Vase Design

The flattened shape is a precise design choice, far removed from the conventional verticality of a vase. It evokes the memory of Eastern ceramics, the tension between fullness and compression, between the solidity of the material and the void that defines it. With a diameter of 30 cm, the piece has a significant visual presence without weighing down the room: it is large enough to become a visual focal point, yet proportioned enough not to overshadow anything around it.

The blue tone chosen for this piece moves effortlessly between different settings: it complements contemporary interiors, where monochrome is a virtue, as well as more classic spaces, where color serves as a deliberate accent. It is not an object that adapts - it is an object that chooses, each time, how to occupy the space.

The compressed silhouette recalls the tradition of ceramics in which volume does not rise upward but expands outward, creating a stable, contemplative figure capable of generating visual calm even in spaces crowded with elements. Placed alone or alongside other furnishings, it retains its identity intact.
