Karlsson — Flip No Case | Wall Clock

Karlsson Flip No Case - Time Revealed Without Mediation

No case, no protective glass, no edge to create a boundary: the Flip No Case clock exposes its mechanism and transforms the wall into a deliberate design statement. Time is not merely read - it is observed, heard in the gentle rustle of the rotating flaps, and perceived as a living presence within the space.

The Flip No Case Design

The flip system has its roots in the large split-flap boards found in airports and railway stations in the 1960s and 1970s - those mechanical displays that marked departures and arrivals with a hypnotic rhythm. Karlsson revives that visual language and distills it into its most essential form: the mechanism remains visible, freed from any casing, and becomes the object itself. The grey version blends naturally with contemporary and Nordic interiors, finding its balance alongside steel, light oak, or exposed concrete surfaces.
