The system consists of basic elements - four seats, one armrest, and six backrests - that can be freely combined to create ever-changing configurations. Its most significant feature is its movable backrests: not anchored to the structure, but precisely weighted to ensure firm, reliable support. They can be moved, oriented, and redistributed. The result is seating that welcomes people of different heights and postures with the same comfort, adapting to conversation, relaxation, and entertaining. Softbench is designed both for a private living room with an informal feel and for contract and hospitality projects seeking contemporary, distinctive design solutions.

Technical Specifications

Designer: Massimo Castagna, 2018

Basic composition: 4 seats, 1 armrest, 6 movable backrests

Customization: Free configurations using modular elements; backrests can be positioned as desired

Applications: Residential and hospitality

The Stilmobili Service

Every purchase includes consultation with our interior design team, planning with realistic renderings of your space, and delivery and assembly service throughout Italy. Book a free consultation →
