Flou — Mandarine Bed Base | Garbin Dell'Orto Design Bed

Flou Mandarine Bed Base - A distinctive profile for rest
Mandarine reinterprets the traditional bed base with a striking presence that redefines the headboard wall: its generous height and perimeter piping become the compositional focal point of the bedroom, interacting naturally with both classic and contemporary interiors.
The Mandarine design
Designed in 2018 by Emanuela Garbin and Mario Dell'Orto for Flou, Mandarine combines the formal simplicity of Italian design with an Oriental inspiration expressed through its balanced proportions and the decorative gesture of the horizontal piping. This detail, which runs around the entire perimeter of the structure, is not purely aesthetic: it visually breaks up the perception of its height - 38 cm from the floor, two more than conventional bed bases - giving lightness to a volume that is solid and enveloping. The base can be enhanced by the wall behind it with drapery, paneling, or picture arrangements, transforming the bed into a true interior design feature. The polished black nickel feet complete the profile with a touch of understated refinement.
