Magnetic Hourglass with Wooden Base - Time as Kinetic Sculpture

Not every object that measures time also knows how to stop it. This 25 cm magnetic hourglass belongs to that rare category of objects that transform an everyday gesture - turning, observing, waiting - into a moment of pure contemplation. Placed on a desk, shelf, or reading table, it quietly reshapes the atmosphere around it.

The Magnetic Hourglass Design

The idea behind it is simple in form yet sophisticated in effect: instead of traditional sand, tiny magnetized spheres slide through the central constriction along trajectories that are never identical, almost as if animated by a force of their own. The transparent glass hides nothing - on the contrary, it displays every single movement like a miniature choreography. The wooden base grounds the object, adds material warmth, and visually balances the lightness of the glass. The result is a balance between geometric rigor and unpredictable behavior: each cycle differs from the previous one, and every turn opens a new visual episode.
