The Tie Design

The idea behind Tie is radical in its simplicity: reduce the structure to the bare essentials without sacrificing strength. The bent sheet-metal legs - shaped with precision until they become almost two-dimensional - create a levitation effect, with the tabletop suspended thirty centimetres above the floor. The matte anthracite finish of the legs dialogues with the warmth of thermo-treated oak, a wood whose character is enhanced by the thermal process: the grain becomes more pronounced, while the tone darkens into deep nuances that age elegantly over time. The result is a coffee table that fits equally well into contemporary settings and spaces with a more tactile character.
