Alessi — Veneer | Urquiola Design Tray

Alessi Veneer PU07 — Material That Finds Its Voice

There is something hypnotic about the way steel, usually cold and resolute, can transform into a surface that whispers. Patricia Urquiola's Veneer tray for Alessi does exactly this: the raised decoration running across the metal evokes the grain of wood, bringing warmth, depth, and movement to a material that rarely allows itself to be softened. Bringing it to the table means choosing to serve not only the dishes, but also an idea of beauty.

Why we chose it for you

Since 1921, Alessi has been where Italian design culture meets everyday life. The Veneer tray was created in collaboration with Patricia Urquiola, a designer who has made the dialogue between materials and sensory experience her distinctive signature. The raised finish is not merely an ornament: it is a technique that transforms the steel sheet into a three-dimensional composition, capable of capturing and reflecting light differently from every angle. The result is an object to look at, touch, and use — one that remains on the table even after the meal as a decorative element.
