Alessi — Vassily GIA01/45 | Stainless steel and resin tray

There is something immediate yet sophisticated about the Vassily: the polished 18/10 stainless steel surface catches the light with that almost liquid quality only metal can provide, while the two black thermoplastic resin handles introduce a sharp, decisive chromatic contrast that transforms a utilitarian object into a piece with a visual character of its own. The rectangle - 45 × 30 centimetres, with a profile measuring just 6.2 centimetres - is an inviting geometry: generous enough to accommodate an informal table setting, yet restrained enough never to feel bulky. The Vassily was conceived by Giulio Iacchetti, a Milanese designer known as one of the most rigorous and ironic of his generation, and a two-time winner of the Compasso d'Oro. Iacchetti often works on the subtle boundary between familiarity and surprise: his objects always seem somehow familiar, yet retain a detail that disrupts habit. Here, that detail is precisely the black handle - a gesture that is more graphic than functional, a quiet signature that guides the eye and conveys a deliberate choice. At Stilmobili, we chose the Vassily because it meets a need we share with our customers: finding objects that work equally well in the kitchen and on the table, in a minimalist loft and in a more classic interior, without ever seeming out of place. It is the ideal tray for those who love to entertain with style but without ostentation, and for those who see design as a form of everyday care.
