Alessi — Toru NE03 NE03 B/USA | Black stainless steel toaster by Nendo

There is something almost cinematic about the way Toru occupies the space on the kitchen counter. Compact and squared, clad in 18/10 stainless steel with black thermoplastic resin finishes, this toaster does not try to go unnoticed: on the contrary, it precisely declares its presence through geometric precision. The dark surfaces absorb light instead of reflecting it, creating an object of surprising visual density, almost more a kitchen sculpture than an appliance. Toru was born from the mind of Nendo, the design studio founded in Tokyo in 2002 by Oki Sato, one of the most recognizable voices in contemporary international design. Nendo has always focused on the essential: eliminating the superfluous until revealing an object's most honest form. In this toaster, that philosophy translates into clean volumes, proportions studied to the millimeter — 32 × 19 × 25.5 cm — and a total absence of ornamental details that have no reason to exist. The power, ranging from 775 to 925W, ensures even and precise toasting. We chose it because it is exactly the kind of object that Stilmobili loves to bring into its clients' homes: pieces that reject the distinction between design and function, turning the everyday gesture — preparing breakfast, brushing a surface, arranging objects on the shelf — into an aesthetically conscious experience. Toru is ideal for those who furnish with rigor, who do not tolerate compromise between beauty and usefulness, and who consider the kitchen a space to be designed with the same care as the living room. Project notes: the NE03 B/USA version is configured with an American plug, designed for those who live or shop overseas without giving up the excellence of the Alessi catalog. Body in 18/10 stainless steel, black thermoplastic resin elements, net weight 3.5 kg. A collection for all seasons, with an autumn-winter vocation.
