Alessi — Toru NE01 NE01 B/USA | Nendo stainless steel electric kettle

There is something almost ceremonial about the act of boiling water. Toru understands this and transforms it into a moment of pure formal contemplation. The electric kettle designed by Nendo for Alessi takes the form of an essential 18/10 stainless steel volume, whose mirrored surface discreetly captures and reflects the kitchen light with aristocratic elegance. The handle, lid, and distinctive black thermoplastic resin spout introduce a sharp, almost graphic color contrast that recalls the sensibility of Japanese linework applied to Italian manufacturing tradition. Toru was born from the collaboration between Alessi and the creative collective Nendo, founded in Tokyo by Oki Sato in 2002 and now among the world's most influential design studios. Nendo brings a radically concise vision of form to every project: nothing is accidental, nothing is excessive. The name itself - Toru, which means "to take" in Japanese - tells of an object conceived above all as a tactile and visual experience, an invitation to grasp, lift, and pour with intention. At Stilmobili, we chose Toru because it perfectly embodies that tension between function and poetry that we seek in every piece in our selection. It is the ideal kettle for those who consider the kitchen a space of culture as well as daily practice, for those who do not separate aesthetics from use and want electrical appliances to contribute to the visual coherence of their home. Design notes: 1.7-liter capacity, 1500W power, dimensions 25.5 × 16.5 × 30.5 cm. US-format plug. Part of the Alessi permanent collection, fall/winter season.
