Alessi — Tonale DC03/78 LG | Light Grey stoneware cup

There is something ancient and contemporary at the same time about the Tonale cup: the stoneware ceramic in its light grey shade carries with it the memory of earth, fire, and the hands that shape it. The matte surface holds the light without reflecting it all, creating a quiet and dignified presence on the set table. With its 25 cl capacity and compact 9.5 cm diameter, it sits naturally in the palm, inviting the slow gesture of breakfast or the afternoon ritual of tea. Tonale is a project by David Chipperfield, the London architect - already the 2023 Pritzker Prize winner - who has built his vision on the balance between structural rigor and material sensitivity. For Alessi, Chipperfield translated that same essential grammar that characterizes his buildings into porcelain and stoneware: no superfluous ornament, only the form engaging with function. The result is a tableware set that seems to have always existed, as if it had always been there, on the shelf of a well-lived-in European kitchen. We chose Tonale for Stilmobili because it embodies exactly what we look for when selecting an object for the table: not the spectacular piece that demands attention, but the one that quietly transforms the quality of an everyday moment. It is the perfect complement for those who furnish with aesthetic consistency, for those who consider the table an extension of their domestic lifestyle project. The light grey blends naturally into contemporary, Nordic, and artisanal settings. Project notes: Stoneware ceramic production, matte light grey finish.
