Alessi — Tonale DC03/78 B | Black stoneware cup

There is a quiet quality to stoneware ceramics that no other material can reproduce: the discreet weight in the hands, the surface that retains heat, the color that absorbs light without reflecting it. Alessi's Tonale cup, in its deep black, brings all of this to fruition with a restraint bordering on rigor. Its profile is clean, almost architectural, and its 25 cl capacity makes it perfect for a long coffee or tea served with attention to the daily ritual. Tonale is one of David Chipperfield's rare forays into the world of household objects. An internationally renowned architect — known for Berlin's Neues Museum and a career built on the relationship between form, material, and memory — Chipperfield designed a tableware set for Alessi that reflects his poetic vision: nothing superfluous, nothing accidental. The name itself, Tonale, evokes the chromatic and sonic quality of ceramics, that "tone" that defines both the color and the atmosphere of a table. The collection entered the Alessi catalog as a precise stylistic statement, aimed at those who consider the table an extension of interior architecture. At Stilmobili, we chose Tonale because it represents exactly what we seek: objects that do not shout their presence, but build it patiently. It is the cup for those who have already found their style and do not need to prove it. It pairs naturally with contemporary tables, concrete or dark wood surfaces, and a kitchen where design is not decoration but vision. Project notes: ceramic stoneware, matte black finish. Height 6.5 cm, diameter 9.5 cm, capacity 25 cl. Weight 294 g. End-of-series item — limited availability.
