Alessi — Tonale DC03/77 LG | Light Grey stoneware saucer

There is something ancient yet contemporary in the weight of a stoneware ceramic plate. David Chipperfield's Tonale appears in its Light Grey version with the quiet composure of objects designed to last: a matte, tactilely dense surface that absorbs light instead of reflecting it, giving the table an almost mineral quality. Twelve centimeters in diameter, a form that leaves no room for superfluous decoration - only the essential geometry of the circle and the carefully calibrated depth of the rim. Tonale was created in 2010 through a collaboration between Alessi and David Chipperfield, an internationally renowned British architect known for his philosophy of rigor and historical continuity. Chipperfield applies the same philosophy that guides his architecture to the design of tableware: nothing is arbitrary, every form is necessary. The name itself - Tonale, like the Alpine pass - evokes something suspended between landscape and memory, between nature and human scale. The stoneware chosen for the collection is not a concession to rustic style, but a declaration of material authenticity. At Stilmobili, we selected Tonale because it represents exactly what we look for when considering the table: the ability of an object to transform the everyday act of eating into something intentional. The DC03/77 LG saucer is designed for those who thoughtfully assemble their tableware, pairing pieces from the same system or mixing them freely. It is the choice of those who consider a set table a form of design. Project notes: glazed stoneware, matte finish in Light Grey. Diameter: 12 cm. Suitable for everyday use. Dishwasher safe. Part of the Tonale system, combinable with the entire collection.
