Alessi — Tonale DC03/76 DG | Dark Grey stoneware espresso cup

There is something ancient and contemporary at the same time in David Chipperfield's Tonale: a small cup held in the hands like an important thought, with the right pressure, without letting it fall. The dark grey stoneware has the texture of time - matte, slightly grainy to the touch, a deep grey that is not an absence of color but its concentration. Eight centiliters in volume, six in diameter: measurements that speak of essentiality, ritual, and coffee drunk slowly. Designed by David Chipperfield, one of the most authoritative British architects on the international scene, Tonale was born from the idea that everyday objects should have the same formal honesty as a well-built building. Chipperfield brings his rigorous yet Mediterranean vision to the project: clean forms, no ornament that is not structure, a ceramic that engages with light without seeking it. The Tonale collection entered the Alessi catalog as a silent manifesto for a design that does not shout but endures. At Stilmobili, we chose Tonale because it embodies exactly what we look for when we talk about high-level design: objects capable of changing the perception of an everyday gesture. The DC03/76 espresso cup is for those who set the breakfast table with the same care they use when choosing a book. It is for those who know the difference between industrial ceramics and one that still bears the traces of hands and earth. Project notes: made of stoneware ceramic, with a matte dark grey finish. Capacity 8 cl, diameter 6 cm, height 5 cm. Part of the Alessi Palinsesto spring/summer collection. EAN 8003299952052.
