Alessi — Tonale DC03/1 B | Black stoneware flat plate

There is a quiet quality to stoneware ceramic that no other material can imitate. The Tonale flat plate, in its deep, tactile black, belongs to that category of objects that do not ask for attention but inevitably receive it. The surface holds the light discreetly, reveals the noble imperfections of porcelain stoneware, and transforms every meal into an act of visual composition. Twenty-six and a half centimeters in diameter - the right size to contain without constraining, to set the stage without overwhelming. Tonale was conceived by David Chipperfield, one of the most rigorous and poetic British architects of his generation and winner of the 2023 Pritzker Prize. Chipperfield brings to the table the same vocabulary he applied to his most celebrated buildings: simplicity, proportion, and respect for the material. The Tonale collection - whose name evokes nuance, gradation, and modulation of tone - is an exercise in joyful reduction. Nothing is superfluous; everything is designed to last beyond seasonal trends. At Stilmobili, we chose Tonale because it shares with us a precise idea of elegance: one that does not need to announce itself. It is the service for those who build their table setting as they build the spaces they live in - with consistency, intention, and taste formed over time. Ideal paired with pieces in natural materials, wood, linen, and stone, or as a refined contrast to white porcelain services. Design notes: the plate is classified as end-of-line, making it a purchase to consider urgently for those wishing to complete or begin the collection. Made of stoneware ceramic, 1.5 cm high, with a diameter of 26.5 cm. Part of the Alessi Palinsesto autumn/winter collection.
