Why we chose it for you

The Tonale collection was created from a project by David Chipperfield for Alessi - an exercise in formal refinement inspired by vernacular ceramics from East Asia, Japan, Korea, and China. The name refers to Giorgio Morandi's approach to color and tones, his way of giving ordinary objects a personal character. At Alessi - an Italian applied arts workshop founded in 1921 on Lake Orta - every piece is born from the meeting of design culture and manufacturing tradition. The Tonale carafe is part of a deliberately varied collection, composed of typologically ambiguous objects that coexist on the table with disarming naturalness.
