Alessi — STEN ABGMP3632B | glass lid with black silicone knob

There is something subtly rigorous about the STEN lid: the transparent glass that lets you glimpse what is cooking, and that black silicone-coated steel knob that interrupts the linearity with a decisive, almost sculptural gesture. An object that lives on the stovetop and, at the same time, has the dignity to be displayed. Its twenty-centimeter diameter makes it versatile, suitable for everyday casseroles and pans, while the silicone ensures a secure grip even with damp hands or when exposed to heat. STEN was created by Giulio Iacchetti, a Milanese designer known for the rigor and irony of his generation and a multiple recipient of the Compasso d'Oro. His work has always balanced functional necessity with a subtle poetic tension in everyday objects: even in a lid - one of the most anonymous elements of kitchenware - Iacchetti finds a way to leave a precise formal intention. The contrast between the transparency of the glass and the opaque solidity of the black knob expresses this balance exactly. At Stilmobili, we chose STEN because it represents what we appreciate most about Alessi's products: the ability to bring good design to places where one would least expect to find it. It is the ideal complement for those who have already chosen a high-quality cookware set and want every detail of the kitchen to follow a coherent aesthetic logic. A considered purchase, not a decorative one. Project notes: borosilicate glass lid; stainless steel knob with food-grade silicone coating, black; diameter 20 cm; height 5 cm. Available as a discontinued item - a piece not to be missed.
