Alessi — Signorina due Cornetti AGJ01 17 | Porcelain Christmas figurine

There is something suspended between the fairy-tale and the ironic in Signorina due Cornetti: a white porcelain figurine that carries all the quirky grace of a character born to inhabit the festive season with a crooked smile. The hand decoration gives each piece a slight uniqueness, that imperfect touch distinguishing the handcrafted object from the mass-produced replica. In its elongated proportions - almost nineteen centimeters tall, with a slender and theatrical silhouette - the figure makes its presence felt on the mantelpiece, shelf, or tree, with the quiet confidence of one who knows it is out of the ordinary. Behind Signorina due Cornetti are two unmistakable signatures of Italian auteur design: Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori, both products of that fertile period when art, comics, graphic design, and design freely influenced one another. Their collaboration with Alessi - incorporated into the AlessiPalinsesto collection - brings to the table a pop and surreal imagery that is cultured and playful at the same time, redefining the way of thinking about Christmas decorations as objects with a personality of their own, rather than mere ornaments. We at Stilmobili chose it because it rejects the picture-postcard Christmas aesthetic. It is designed for those who love receiving a surprising gift, for whom furnishing also means choosing with irony and awareness, and for those who recognize the authentic value of a collectible piece in the detail crafted by hand. It will not disappear into a box in January: it will find its place all year round. Design notes: hand-decorated porcelain, dimensions 18.5 × 3.8 × 10 cm. Part of the Alessi Palinsesto collection, autumn/winter season. Design: Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori.
