There is something almost paradoxical about the Sarrià basket: its apparent lightness, that irregular and whimsical edge reminiscent of the crumpled rim of a silver paper tray, is actually the result of one of the most complex and precise processes applied to stainless steel. An object that plays with visual memory and brings the elegance of an unexpected detail to the table.

Why we chose it for you

The design was conceived by Lluís Clotet, a Catalan architect fascinated by the idea of reproducing the random creases of a foil tray in steel. Sarrià's wavy edge is created using cold forming in a single operation: a highly complex industrial process that transforms a noble, durable material into something that seems almost fragile, almost improvised. It is this tension between technique and appearance that makes the piece worthy of the Alessi tradition — an Italian workshop of applied arts since 1921.
