Santiago is one of the most rigorous expressions of David Chipperfield's work for Alessi. The British architect - founder of one of the most internationally respected firms, with works ranging from Berlin to Tokyo - brings the same philosophy that guides his architecture to the cutlery design: the conviction that beauty lies not in addition, but in subtraction. The Santiago collection was born from the meeting of this vision and the craftsmanship of the Italian manufacturer in Crusinallo, translating into steel a formal language that belongs as much to design as to architecture.
