Alessi — Santiago DC05/5 | Chipperfield fruit fork

There is a quiet geometry in the 18/10 stainless steel of the Santiago fruit fork. The tines open with millimetric precision, while the handle extends in a line that leaves nothing to superfluity. Holding it means coming into contact with an object that has already decided everything about itself: its weight, balance, and the temperature of the metal as it responds to the warmth of one's grip. This is cutlery in the highest sense of the term - not a simple utensil, but a gesture crystallized in industrial form. Santiago was born from the vision of David Chipperfield, one of the most influential British architects of his generation and winner of the 2023 Pritzker Prize. His signature is recognizable in its rigorous simplicity, the absence of ornament for ornament's sake, and a minimalism that is not empty but rather an extreme concentration of meaning. Bringing these principles from architecture to the domestic scale - from Berlin's Neue Nationalgalerie to a set dining table - is the task Alessi entrusted to him, and which Chipperfield translated into a collection of rare formal coherence. At Stilmobili, we chose Santiago because it represents exactly the kind of object that interests us: one that goes unnoticed because it is perfect, disappearing into everyday use while leaving a lasting impression. It is ideal for those who arrange a table with design awareness, for those who do not separate aesthetics from function and recognize cutlery as a fully fledged furnishing element. Project notes: 18/10 stainless steel fruit fork, 16 cm long. Part of the Santiago collection for Alessi, available to match with the other pieces in the set for a table setting of absolute formal coherence.
