Alessi — Rundes Modell JH01/7 | Hoffmann teaspoon

There is something hypnotic about the circular perfection of the Rundes Modell. The JH01/7 teaspoon is an object that settles between the fingers with the quiet awareness of holding something already complete: the 18/10 stainless steel offers a restrained sheen, never ostentatious, while the geometry of the handle reveals its deeply intellectual nature. Fourteen centimeters of formal balance, where every curve seems to obey a higher logic, that of the circle as the archetype of order. Josef Hoffmann, the Viennese architect and designer who co-founded the Wiener Werkstätte in 1903, was one of the most rigorous interpreters of the relationship between ornament and function in early twentieth-century Europe. The "Rundes Modell" motif - literally "round model" - is among his most recognizable expressions: a decorative grammar based on repeated spheres and circles that transforms every piece of cutlery into a manifesto of Central European modernist thought. Alessi chose to preserve and reinterpret this design within Officina Alessi, the line dedicated to the great masters of historical design, where manufacturing craftsmanship engages in dialogue with the cultural heritage of these pieces.
