Alessi — Rundes Modell JH01/5 | Hoffmann dessert fork

There is something intrinsically ceremonial about bringing a fruit fork by Josef Hoffmann to the table. The JH01/5 model, part of the Rundes Modell set, is forged from 18/10 stainless steel and embodies in its form all the creative tension between ornament and function that marked the entire era of Viennese Modernism. The profiles follow one another with an almost musical rhythm: each decorative element is never gratuitous, but part of a rigorous yet sensual visual system, designed to be held, used and admired. Josef Hoffmann, co-founder of the Wiener Werkstätte in 1903, was one of the great architects of European applied design in the twentieth century. The Rundes Modell - the "round model" - arose from his obsession with the circle as a pure form, generating order and harmony. Alessi recovered and reinterpreted it within Officina Alessi, the research workshop that, since 1983, has engaged in dialogue with the masters of design - past and present - to bring the memory of great international design back to the Italian table.
