Alessi — Rundes Modell JH01/3 | Hoffmann table knife

There is something immediately recognizable about the Rundes Modell: a geometry that leaves nothing to chance, a formal consistency that runs through every millimeter of the handle to the AISI 420 steel blade. The profile is clean, almost austere, yet warm in its precision. Holding it means gripping an object that knows exactly what it is - and says so without raising its voice. Josef Hoffmann, co-founder of the Wiener Werkstätte in 1903, devoted much of his life to the conviction that art should inhabit everyday objects without hierarchical distinction. The Rundes Modell - the "round model" - was born from that vision: cutlery designed to be used, not admired. Reissued by Alessi in the Officina Alessi series, which brings together the great classics of European design, reinterpreted with the manufacturing expertise of the Crusinallo factory, this series brings to the present a piece belonging to twentieth-century history without ceasing to be extraordinarily contemporary. At Stilmobili, we chose the Rundes Modell because it embodies exactly what we look for when we talk about a carefully set table: not ostentation, but quiet quality. It is the right knife for those who set a table with the same care devoted to the spaces they live in - for those who know that a cutlery set is an act of care toward guests, before it is an expression of style. Project notes: AISI 420 stainless steel blade and handle, length 21.5 cm. Part of the Officina Alessi collection, available to pair with the other pieces in the Rundes Modell service designed by Josef Hoffmann.
