Alessi — Rocc MA05S4S | Amethyst candle in stainless steel

There is something deliberately quiet about Rocc's form: a low, compact cylinder, closed by its 18/10 stainless steel lid like a box guarding a secret. The vegetable-based wax scented with Amethyst fragrance - enveloping, mineral, with hints of the precious stone after which it is named - transforms lighting it into an almost ritual gesture. The polished metal reflects the flame's light from the outside, while the wax works inside: two natures, two temperatures of the same object. Michael Anastassiades, one of the most rigorous and poetic Cypriot designers on the international scene, brings his unmistakable stylistic signature to Rocc: subtraction as a form of precision, geometry as an emotional language. Known for his collaborations with Flos and for light installations that inhabit museums and designer spaces around the world, Anastassiades applies the same formal discipline to the candle with which he designs a lamp or an object for public space. Nothing is decorative in the ornamental sense: everything is structure, presence, intention. Stilmobili chose Rocc because it perfectly embodies that borderline area we are interested in exploring: between a functional object and domestic sculpture. It is the candle for those who are not looking for fragrance, but atmosphere. For those who inhabit spaces where everything has been considered, and who tolerate no exceptions. Perfect on a marble surface, a minimalist shelf, or the bedside table of a room conceived as a refuge. Project notes: candle made from vegetable wax, 250 g, Amethyst fragrance. Container with 18/10 stainless steel lid. Small size, diameter 12 cm, height 7 cm. Alessi Palinsesto fall/winter collection.
