Alessi — Rocc MA05S2S | Small Basalt candle in stainless steel

There is something ancestral in the name Michael Anastassiades chose for this collection: Rocc evokes stone, its silent permanence, the mineral density of what withstands time. The scented candle in vegetable-based wax — contained in an 18/10 stainless steel cylinder with a pressure-fit lid — translates this poetics into an object to hold in your hands, smell, and light with intention. The Basalt fragrance brings dark, earthy notes to the fore, like the scent of volcanic rock after rain: a fragrance that does not decorate the air, but inhabits it. Michael Anastassiades, a Cypriot designer with a studio in London, is among the clearest and most rigorous voices in contemporary international design. His stylistic signature — essential geometries, noble materials, and an absence of ornament — finds an unusual and intimate expression in this candle. His collaboration with Alessi, a company that has always believed in the frontier between design and everyday life, produces here an object that belongs as much to the culture of fragrance as to that of collectible design. We chose it for Stilmobili because it speaks to those who see household objects as gestures of self-care. Not a generic mood candle, but a small creation with its own formal and sensory coherence: perfect for a desk, bedside table, or bookcase where rigor is at home. Ideal as a gift for someone who already has everything, but not this yet. Project notes: vegetable wax, 250 g, Basalt fragrance. 18/10 stainless steel container with lid. Diameter 12 cm, height 7 cm. Small size. Alessi Palinsesto fall/winter collection.
