Alessi — Pulcina MDL02 MDL02/1 R | Red aluminum espresso maker

There is something alive about the Pulcina. Perhaps it is the arched spout, designed to retain the coffee's essential oils and return them to the cup without dispersion. Perhaps it is the sculpted handle, bright red and warm to the touch like an object that already knows your hand. Or perhaps it is simply its shape: compact, rounded, almost animal-like - a small firebird, faithful to its ritual every morning. Made of cast aluminum, with a red polyamide handle and knob, the one-cup Pulcina is an object that occupies the stovetop with the discretion of something that knows it is beautiful without having to prove it. Michele De Lucchi created this piece with the same design consistency that has made him one of the masters of contemporary Italian design. Founder of AMDL Circle, formerly a leading figure in the Memphis movement and later a consultant to major European industries, De Lucchi applied profound thinking about ergonomics and the physics of coffee to the moka pot: the carefully designed curved spout is not an aesthetic flourish, but a technical solution that significantly improves extraction quality by reducing the water's contact with air during pouring. At Stilmobili, we chose the Pulcina because it represents exactly what we believe in: an everyday object elevated into a form of thought. It is the ideal gift for anyone who considers breakfast a moment of authorship, for those who furnish the kitchen with the same care as the living room, and for anyone who wants to bring a piece of design history to their table without giving up functional pleasure. Design notes: capacity 7 cl (1 espresso cup), dimensions 12.5 × 7.2 × 16.5 cm. Die-cast aluminum body, heat-resistant polyamide handle and knob. Compatible with gas and electric stovetops.
