Alessi — Pulcina MDL02/6 MDL02/6BFM | Aluminum espresso coffee maker

There is something alive about the Pulcina. The pronounced spout, rounded like a small beak, and the silhouette that softly swells toward the bottom affectionately and ironically evoke the shape of a newly hatched chick. Made of cast aluminum with a matte blue finish, it sits on the cooktop as naturally as one picks up a family object. The black polyamide handle and knob offer a firm, comfortable grip, while the magnetic steel base also makes it compatible with induction cooktops - a technical detail that in no way betrays the harmony of the form. Michele De Lucchi designed the Pulcina with a precise intention: to solve one of the historic problems of the moka pot, namely coffee burning when it comes into contact with the hot walls as it rises. The patented internal spout - which cools the coffee as it emerges from the filter - is not a hidden engineering trick, but the very heart of the design. De Lucchi, a central figure in Italian design between Memphis and his long-standing collaboration with Alessi, creates here an object that shows how function and poetry can inhabit the same body. At Stilmobili, we chose the Pulcina because, in the world of everyday objects, it is rare to find one that combines innovation with domestic warmth. It is the ideal coffee maker for those who love the morning coffee ritual without giving up kitchen aesthetics, for those looking for a meaningful gift, or for those who want to create an environment around themselves in which everything has a reason to exist just as it is. Project notes: capacity for 6 cups (30 cl), dimensions 20 × 12 × 26 cm. Includes an accessory filter for American coffee. Suitable for all cooktops, including induction.
