Alessi — Pulcina MDL02/3 R | Red aluminum espresso maker

There is something tender and irresistible about the Pulcina: a spout that curves like a small bird's beak, a silhouette that seems to hold its breath before pouring. Made of cast aluminum with a lacquer-red polyamide handle and knob, this three-cup coffee maker brings a presence to the stovetop that goes far beyond function. The bright red is not a decorative choice: it is a statement of character, a sign that every morning can have its own small ceremony. The design bears the signature of Michele De Lucchi, one of the clearest voices in contemporary Italian design - already a driving force behind the Memphis movement, and later a thoughtful, poetic voice of an aesthetic that knows how to combine humanism with formal rigor. With the Pulcina, De Lucchi takes on one of the most beloved archetypes of Italian domestic culture - the moka pot - and reinterprets it with a far from insignificant technical modification: the spout is designed to retain the first drops of coffee, the most bitter and least refined, resulting in a sweeter, more balanced beverage in the cup. The form arises from the function, and the function becomes a story. At Stilmobili, we chose the Pulcina because it embodies exactly what we look for: objects that have something to say, that enhance everyday experiences without sacrificing beauty. It is the perfect gift for those who love coffee mindfully, who furnish the kitchen as if it were a living room, and who recognize design as an act of care toward themselves and others.
