Alessi — Pulcina MDL02/3 B | 3-cup aluminum espresso coffee maker

There is something alive about the Pulcina. Perhaps it is the pronounced beak, slightly raised like a bird listening, or perhaps it is the plump silhouette that evokes the material of tradition — cast aluminum, warm to the touch, solid in the hand. Made for three cups, this espresso coffee maker tells the story of the moka ritual in a new voice: that of an object that seems always to have been there, on the stovetop, as if it could not exist anywhere else. Michele De Lucchi, one of the most refined figures in contemporary Italian design, built the Pulcina around a precise technical insight: an internal chamber redesigned to stop the water from rising at the exact moment it reaches the optimal temperature, before excessive heat compromises the coffee's aroma. The result is a sweeter, less bitter cup, with a crema that is surprising for a moka pot. The name — Pulcina — is an affectionate tribute to the zoomorphic form that De Lucchi has rendered without falling into the illustrative: it is suggestion, not decoration. At Stilmobili, we chose the Pulcina because it represents exactly what we look for: objects that enhance an everyday gesture without sacrificing formal beauty. It is the right gift for those who appreciate coffee mindfully, for those who furnish their kitchen with the same rigor with which they choose a sofa. It is designed for those who do not separate aesthetics from function. Project notes: cast aluminum, handle and knob in black polyamide. Capacity 15 cl, dimensions 15.2 × 9.2 × h 20 cm. Available in the 3-cup version. Alessi collection, autumn/winter lineup.
