Alessi — Proust AM43 2 | Mendini blown glass Christmas bauble

There is something moving about holding a hand-decorated blown-glass sphere: its light weight, the surface that captures the light and returns it transformed, the sense of fragility that is also a promise of beauty. Alessi's Proust bauble, with its nine-centimeter diameter, brings to the Christmas tree all the rigor and imagination of artisanal craftsmanship that has not abandoned the human touch — every decoration is unique, every nuance belongs to the hand that traced it. Alessandro Mendini, a guiding figure in Italian design and the intellectual force behind some of the most memorable collaborations in Alessi's history, created this decoration with the same sensitivity that shaped decades of research at the boundary between functional object and work of art. Mendini always believed that domestic design could be a poetic, almost literary act — and the reference to Proust in the name is no coincidence: it is an invitation to rediscover a deeper layer of memory and meaning in everyday details. At Stilmobili, we chose this piece because it expresses a vision of home living that we deeply share: one in which every corner of the home, including the Christmas tree, deserves attention and intention. It is the ideal ornament for those who see the holidays as an opportunity to surround themselves with beautiful and meaningful things, for those who give gifts with a story to tell, and for those who know that true luxury lies in attention to detail. Project notes: as this is a discontinued item, availability is limited. Blown glass, hand decoration, 9 cm diameter. A collectible piece, not merely something to hang.
