Alessi — Prism ESA06 2 | Blown glass Christmas decoration

There is something ancient yet surprising about blown glass: each piece carries the breath of the person who created it, an unrepeatable gesture frozen in the material. Alessi's Prism brings this age-old magic to the Christmas tree, expressed in a geometric form that captures light and breaks it into iridescent reflections. Six centimeters in diameter, eleven in height: proportions designed to interact with the branch that holds it without weighing it down, but rather lightening it with its luminous presence. Elena Salmistraro - a Milanese designer with a visionary sensibility and an unmistakable formal vocabulary - has created this decoration as part of the AlessiPalinsesto collection. Her work constantly oscillates between the natural and the fantastical, between pure geometry and symbolic narrative. With Prism, Salmistraro revisits the idea of the optical prism - an instrument of scientific wonder - and transforms it into a household object capable of evoking the same sense of wonder. Each piece is decorated entirely by hand, which means that no two Prisms are identical: every shade, every stroke is unique. We chose Prism for Stilmobili because it represents exactly what we look for in Christmas decorations: not a simple ornament, but a small designer object to cherish year after year. It is the ideal gift for those who collect design, and for anyone who wants a Christmas that speaks a contemporary language without giving up the warmth of artisanal tradition. A decoration that holds its value even out of season, like a miniature work of art. Project notes: blown glass, hand decoration, diameter 6 cm, height 11 cm. Designer: Elena Salmistraro. AlessiPalinsesto Collection, fall/winter season.
