Alessi — Pluto GV13/77 | Porcelain coffee cup saucer

There is something essential and almost geometrically pure about placing an espresso cup on this saucer. The white of the porcelain is never neutral when chosen with such awareness: it is silence, preparation for the ritual, the perfect backdrop that enhances the color of the coffee, the sheen of the ceramic, and the slow gesture of bringing the cup to one’s lips. Thirteen centimeters in diameter define a precise space, almost a miniature stage. Pluto was created by Guido Venturini, a Florentine designer known for his ability to move between irony and formal discipline, between playfulness and the solidity of the design. The Alessi collection bearing this name belongs to a creative period in which the Crusinallo manufacturer explored the possibilities of porcelain with a new perspective, entrusting designers capable of listening to the material with the task of reinterpreting the classics of tableware. The result is a piece that does not shout its presence but inhabits it with restraint. At Stilmobili, we chose Pluto because it expresses a vision of the table as a place of care. It is the ideal complement for those who consider breakfast or coffee time a ritual to be honored, and for those who enjoy creating a cohesive table setting, even in the smallest details. It belongs to a series that is now discontinued, making it a choice for connoisseurs - anyone who purchases it today takes home a piece of Italian tableware design history.
