Alessi — Plissé MDL21 B | Black De Lucchi electric kettle

There is something deeply familiar about the Plissé, yet every time you look at it, you realize how extraordinary it is. Its pleated surface - a direct reference to the fabric from which it takes its name - captures and distributes light in unexpected ways, transforming an everyday gesture such as boiling water into a small aesthetic ritual. Made of black thermoplastic resin, the kettle has a strong physical presence: 32 centimeters tall, with a silhouette that recalls both a tailored garment and an architectural form, a generous capacity of 1.7 liters, and power ranging from 1850 to 2200W. The Plissé was created by Michele De Lucchi, one of the most influential Italian architects and designers of the twentieth century, a former co-founder of the Memphis movement and later the driving force behind a personal exploration focused on archetypal forms imbued with humanity. With this project, De Lucchi brings his ability to read objects as living presences into the kitchen - not mere tools, but interlocutors in everyday life. The integrated temperature control is not merely a function: it is the mark of an object that responds, that listens. At Stilmobili, we chose the Plissé because it perfectly embodies what we look for: the point where intellectual craftsmanship meets domestic use. It is designed for those who do not separate the kitchen from the living room or function from form, for those who consider breakfast a moment worthy of care and beauty. It is the right object for a marble countertop, next to a distinctive coffee machine, in a home that knows exactly what it wants.
