Alessi — Plissé MDL16 W | Michele De Lucchi kitchen scale

There is something unexpectedly poetic about a kitchen scale that recalls the texture of fabric. Plissé takes its name from the pleating that defines its edge, a formal detail capable of transforming a measuring object into an element of domestic composition. The white thermoplastic resin body is topped with a tempered glass surface: materials that interact with one another as naturally as a tailored garment alternates matte and glossy finishes. Slim, almost flat, it hangs on the wall like a graphic artwork or finds a place on the worktop with understated elegance. Michele De Lucchi brings his most recognizable signature to this project: the ability to imbue everyday objects with meaning without ever weighing them down. One of the most influential designers on the Italian scene - founder of the AMDL CIRCLE studio, a leading figure of the Memphis movement and later a refined interpreter of a more restrained modernism - De Lucchi gives Plissé a geometry that is both functional and narrative. An object that knows what it wants to be, and says so with grace. At Stilmobili, we chose Plissé because it perfectly represents what we look for when selecting a kitchen appliance: the balance between performance and character. It is designed for those who furnish their kitchen with the same care they use when choosing a painting or a textile, and who are unwilling to relegate everyday tools to a functional but anonymous corner. The rechargeable battery and wall mount complete a proposition that is, above all, a way of living. Project notes: diameter 27.5 cm, thickness 2.8 cm.
