Alessi — Plissé MDL16 GR | Green De Lucchi kitchen scale

There is something unexpectedly poetic about an object that measures precisely while also serving as decoration. Plissé is a digital kitchen scale that brings to the table - or rather, to the countertop - Michele De Lucchi's formal grace: a thin tempered-glass disc supported by a green thermoplastic resin body, soft and tactile like a leaf resting on marble. Its profile is almost flat, barely perceptible, yet unmistakable. The texture that gives the collection its name - plissé, the pleated fabric - can be sensed in the surface, transforming an everyday act such as weighing ingredients into a small act of style. Michele De Lucchi, one of the undisputed protagonists of contemporary Italian design, created this piece with the lightness that characterizes his approach to domestic objects: function and beauty not as a compromise, but as a shared calling. Plissé was created within Alessi's large family dedicated to kitchen appliances, with the aim of restoring aesthetic dignity to tools often overlooked in design discussions. Its rechargeable battery and the possibility of hanging it on the wall with a dedicated support make it an object designed to fully inhabit the kitchen, rather than being hidden in a drawer. We at Stilmobili chose it because Plissé speaks to those who see the kitchen as a space for design, not just production. It is ideal for those seeking aesthetic consistency even in the most practical tools, for those who want every object on the countertop to have a formal reason as well as a functional one. The green of this version - warm, botanical, never aggressive - fits naturally into contemporary kitchens that blend natural materials and earthy color.
