Alessi — Plissé MDL14B MDL14B/US | De Lucchi black filter coffee maker

There is something deeply familiar about the ritual of filter coffee, yet in Michele De Lucchi's hands even the most everyday machine becomes an object capable of arresting the eye. Plissé is made of black thermoplastic resin, with a surface that evokes the folds of pleated fabric — hence the name — and a silhouette that plays between austere geometry and artisanal softness. The black absorbs the light, concentrates the form, and transforms the countertop into a small domestic stage set. Michele De Lucchi, one of the most versatile and intellectually restless figures in contemporary Italian design, signs with Plissé a piece that belongs to Alessi's long tradition of turning an everyday object into an aesthetic manifesto. The Palinsesto collection — the seasonal program through which Alessi continuously updates its offering — welcomed Plissé as one of those pieces capable of conversing with time without belonging entirely to it: neither vintage nor ostentatiously modern, but simply necessary. We at Stilmobili chose it for those who experience the kitchen as a space for thought as well as practice, for those who do not want to give up the quality of American coffee — slow, long, meant to be sipped — without compromising on the visual character of the objects that inhabit their everyday lives. It is the right machine for a carefully designed home, for an office that wants to say something about itself, and for anyone who gives with intention. Project notes: 1100W of power, a capacity of 1.5 liters, 120V~60Hz voltage with an American plug. Compact dimensions — 28 × 22.5 × 35 cm — for a stage presence far greater than its footprint.
