Alessi — Plissé MDL14 W | De Lucchi white filter coffee maker

There is something deeply domestic about the ritual of drip coffee: the slowness, the aroma spreading even before the cup is ready, the morning light passing through the steam. Plissé inhabits this ritual with a sculptural, silent presence. Its form - enveloped in a white, almost milky thermoplastic resin - recalls the soft folds of a starched fabric, a texture that gives the piece an unusual three-dimensionality for an appliance. It is not an object to hide in a cupboard: it is designed to sit on the kitchen counter and engage with the space. The design is by Michele De Lucchi, a key figure in contemporary Italian design, who was already a leading figure in the Memphis Movement before becoming a leading exponent of a more reflective and formally rigorous period. With Plissé, De Lucchi translates his research into pure form into an everyday object: the pleated surface is not decoration, but visual structure - a rhythm that lightens the mass and transforms a 1100W appliance into something akin to handcrafted ceramics. The machine is part of the Alessi collection and bears the code MDL14, marking a mature, well-defined design within the Crusinallo brand's catalog. We at Stilmobili chose it because it answers a precise question: how can beauty be brought into every corner of the home, even in the most ordinary gestures? Plissé is for those who love American coffee - long, slow, and savored - and want the machine that prepares it to have its own aesthetic dignity. Ideal for contemporary, minimalist, or Nordic kitchens, yet distinctive enough to find a place in more eclectic settings.
