Alessi — Plissé MDL14 MDL14 W/CH | De Lucchi filter coffee maker

There is something almost sculptural about the way Plissé occupies the kitchen counter. The pleated surface that gives it its name is not merely an aesthetic choice: it is a material gesture that captures light differently at every hour of the day, transforming an appliance into an object worth looking at even when it is switched off. The white thermoplastic resin - chosen with precision, not for economy but for chromatic purity - conveys a quiet, refined presence, capable of conversing with the most contemporary environments without ever overwhelming them. Plissé was born from the pencil of Michele De Lucchi, an architect and designer among the most influential figures on the Italian and European scene, who was already a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later pursued a design path that always placed the relationship between form, function, and the cultural significance of everyday objects at its center. With this project for Alessi, De Lucchi brings his humanist vision into the routine of filter coffee, transforming an ordinary household gesture into a small ritual with strong aesthetic significance. At Stilmobili, we chose Plissé because it embodies exactly what we seek in the pieces we carry: the ability to exist in the world without fuss, with the quiet confidence characteristic of truly well-designed objects. It is ideal for those who love carefully prepared American coffee, for those who live in spaces where design is a statement rather than a decoration, and for those who want to give something that will last - over time and in memory.
