Alessi — Plissé MDL14 MDL14 G/CH | De Lucchi gray filter coffee maker

There is something deeply domestic about the ritual of filter coffee, that conscious slowness that transforms an ordinary morning into a moment of presence. Alessi's Plissé celebrates it with a form that is already an aesthetic statement: the outer surface in grey thermoplastic resin is marked by a pleated texture - like the fabric of a tailored garment - that captures the light and gives a sense of three-dimensionality to an everyday object. The volume is composed and vertical, resolved with the formal clarity that distinguishes objects designed to last beyond the seasons. Michele De Lucchi designed this piece with the customary design intelligence that has made him one of the clearest voices in contemporary Italian design. Founder of AMDL CIRCLE and formerly one of the most original voices of the Memphis Group in the 1980s, De Lucchi brings to Plissé his ability to find beauty in structure, making the functional element - here, the pleated ribbing that stiffens and decorates at the same time - the very heart of its visual language. The result is an object that belongs to Alessi's great tradition: industry and craftsmanship, usefulness and material culture. We at Stilmobili chose it for those who consider the kitchen a space for thought as well as practicality, for those who do not separate beauty from usefulness and recognize in the formal quality of an appliance the same care they devote to a piece of furniture. Plissé is ideal for contemporary settings with personality, where every object is called upon to play its part in the overall story of the spaces.
