Alessi — Plissé MDL14 MDL14 B/CH | De Lucchi black filter coffee maker

There is something almost architectural about the Plissé. Its surface, marked by regular vertical folds - the "plissé" in the name - transforms a kitchen appliance into an object that demands to be looked at even when it is switched off. Made of black thermoplastic resin, the machine body has the visual character of a rigid fabric, of a tailored garment translated into industrial form. The silhouette rises vertically with a composure rarely seen in this category, while the matching adapter completes the ensemble without any interruption in colour. Everything is black, everything is coherent. Michele De Lucchi created this piece with the same formal intelligence that has shaped decades of Italian design: from his Memphis period to his objects for Olivetti, through to the institutional and architectural design of his more recent years. The Plissé was created as part of the Alessi Palinsesto programme - the line of small appliances with which the factory on Lake Orta brought its approach into the world of kitchen machines - and bears the signature of one of the most thoughtful designers on the Italian scene. De Lucchi works with texture as a language: the fold is not decoration, but visual and tactile structure at the same time. At Stilmobili, we chose it because it answers a precise question: how to bring authentic design quality to everyday objects without sacrificing function. The Plissé is ideal for those who create a kitchen with an eye for aesthetics, and for those who want no compromise between the worktop and the living room sideboard. With a capacity of 1.5 litres and a power rating of 1100W, it is a practical and efficient filter coffee machine - but above all, it is an object that expresses a point of view.
