Alessi — Plissé MDL14 G | De Lucchi filter coffee maker

There is something almost architectural about the way Plissé occupies the kitchen counter. Its form is an exercise in rigor and grace at once: surfaces folded like origami paper, volumes rising with the same logic as a rationalist façade, and a soft gray that belongs neither to metal nor to shadow, but to a space all its own. Holding the carafe, pouring the coffee - these are gestures that this machine makes slower, more mindful, and more pleasurably domestic. Plissé was born from the collaboration between Alessi and Michele De Lucchi, one of the most perceptive Italian architects and designers of his generation - co-founder of Memphis, and later the creator of architecture, installations, and objects that span decades without aging. With Plissé, De Lucchi brings the same formal attention he gives to larger-scale projects to the kitchen appliance: the pleating that gives the object its name is not ornament, but visual structure, rhythm, and identity. A drip coffee maker conceived like a collectible object. At Stilmobili, we chose Plissé because it embodies exactly what we seek when we talk about design applied to everyday life: the ability to transform a morning ritual into a moment of aesthetic quality. It is the ideal appliance for those who furnish with consistency, for those who do not separate the kitchen from the rest of the home, for those who know that even a cup of coffee can emerge from a beautiful design.
