Alessi — Plissé MDL12 R | Red resin insulated carafe

There is something immediately recognizable about Plissé's silhouette: the fluted surface running vertically along the body of the jug, almost like architectural drapery translated into red thermoplastic resin. The form is full of personality, yet never overpowering - it fits comfortably in the hands, tilts naturally, and the internal double-walled thermal glass keeps tea or coffee at a generous temperature for an extended time, without the outer surface becoming hot or transmitting heat. The red is chosen, not imposed: it is a declaration of mood, a chromatic signature that transforms an everyday gesture into a small ritual with character. Plissé was created by Michele De Lucchi, one of the most significant architects and designers on the contemporary Italian scene, co-founder of the Memphis group in the 1980s and later the author of a design practice able to move with equal authority among cultural installations, architecture, and everyday objects. With Alessi, De Lucchi developed a reflection on domestic form that never gives up substance: Plissé is direct evidence of this, with its ornament - the pleating - serving simultaneously as structure, grip, and visual identity. At Stilmobili, we chose the Plissé MDL12 because it represents exactly the combination we are looking for: full functionality, an authoritative signature, and a distinctive aesthetic presence. It is designed for those who love to entertain with care, for those who consider the breakfast table or tea tray a small compositional stage. It pairs effortlessly with white or black ceramic dinnerware and naturally becomes the centerpiece in vibrant color editions. Project notes: capacity 100 cl, dimensions 20 × 11 × 32 cm. Body in thermoplastic resin with an internal double-walled borosilicate glass liner. Red finish. Alessi collection, spring/summer lineup.
