Alessi — Plissé MDL10SR MDL10SR/US | Red De Lucchi immersion blender

There is something surprisingly theatrical about Plissé: its silhouette belongs to an object that has decided not to resign itself to the anonymity of a drawer. The pleated surface — from which it takes its name — runs across the thermoplastic resin body like a tailored texture, transforming a kitchen appliance into a small manifesto of style. The intense red is not a concession to fashion: it is a declaration of intent. On the countertop, Plissé does not hide. It puts itself on display. Michele De Lucchi designed this hand blender with the same poetic coherence that has run through his entire career: the idea that everyday objects can carry meaning, rather than being mere tools. De Lucchi — already a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s, and later one of the most refined interpreters of contemporary Italian design — succeeds here in expressing his humanist vision in a domestic format. Plissé was created as part of Alessi's kitchen appliance program, a field in which the Crusinallo Factory of Dreams has always sought to bring the same formal ambition that governs its tableware. Includes: measuring cup, whisk, and food chopper. Everything needed to work precisely in the kitchen — 200W of power in a body just 7 cm in diameter and 34 cm tall. Compact, but not lacking in capability. We chose it for those who see the kitchen as a space for expression, not merely function; for those who want every object on their countertop to have an aesthetic as well as a practical purpose. Project notes: version with an American (US) plug, ideal for those who live or purchase for spaces overseas. Listed as a discontinued item: an opportunity to seize for anyone wanting a discontinued Alessi piece.
