Alessi — Plissé MDL10 MDL10SB/US | De Lucchi immersion blender

There is something unexpectedly sculptural about Plissé. The pleated texture running across the body of the appliance - and giving it its name - is not an ornament: it is a signature, a formal gesture that transforms an everyday object into a piece worth keeping on display on the kitchen worktop. Made of black thermoplastic resin, the immersion blender comes complete with a measuring cup, whisk, and food chopper, offering quiet versatility concealed behind an aesthetic that is anything but ordinary. Michele De Lucchi, one of the most influential architects and designers on the Italian and international scene, created this appliance with the same poetic sensibility that has run through his entire career: from the Memphis era to his years of collaboration with Olivetti, and through to his urban-scale architectural projects. With Plissé, De Lucchi brings to the small kitchen appliance a reflection on the surface as a language - pleating, precisely, as a rhythmic fold that evokes fabric, craftsmanship, and care. The result is an object that speaks of design even when it is switched off. At Stilmobili, we chose Plissé because it embodies exactly what we look for: the ability to turn an everyday gesture - blending, chopping, whipping - into an aesthetically conscious moment. It is designed for those who do not separate the kitchen from the rest of the home, for those who furnish consistently and do not accept that the worktop should be excluded from the formal care given to other rooms.
