Alessi — Plissé MDL09 MDL09 W/UK | Michele De Lucchi designer blender

There is something almost architectural about the Plissé. Its ribbed surface, running across the white thermoplastic resin body like the folds of a fine fabric, transforms a kitchen appliance into an object worthy of a shelf. The graduated PCTG jug — a transparent and durable material — fits onto the base with a precision more reminiscent of a laboratory instrument than a household blender. Absolute white, soft forms and vertical tension: the Plissé stands out even when switched off. Michele De Lucchi, one of the most influential architects and designers on the Italian and international scene, brings his customary ability to interpret function through form to this project. De Lucchi — already a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s, and later a critical and poetic voice in contemporary design — brings to the Plissé the same sensitivity with which he redesigned public and private spaces throughout Europe. The “pleated” motif that gives the product its name is not ornament: it is structure, character, signature. We at Stilmobili chose it for those who accept no compromises, even in the kitchen. The Plissé is for those who believe that a well-curated countertop is an act of style, and that every object on display must earn its place through aesthetic coherence. It is ideal for kitchens with a contemporary or minimalist character, but also for anyone who wants to introduce a design accent into more eclectic spaces. Project notes: 700W of power, 1.5-liter capacity, compact dimensions (23.5 × 18.5 × 42.5 cm). UK plug. End of line — limited availability.
