Alessi — Plissé MDL08W MDL08W/USA | White resin toaster by De Lucc

There is something deeply domestic yet unexpected about the Plissé: a toaster that does not hide, that does not try to blend in among the kitchen surfaces, but chooses to inhabit it with a sculptural and unmistakable presence. The white thermoplastic resin reflects light with a soft, almost milky surface, while the pleated texture that runs across the object's body - evident in its name - transforms an everyday gesture into a small aesthetic ritual. Holding it in your hands and moving it across the worktop is already an experience unlike the usual. The Plissé was born from a collaboration between Alessi and Michele De Lucchi, an architect and designer among the most influential figures on the Italian and international scene, already a leading figure in the Memphis movement in the 1980s and the author of projects spanning architecture to industrial design with rare poetic consistency. With the Plissé, De Lucchi brings his ability to find beauty in constructive simplicity to the kitchen: the vertical folds that define the volume are not decoration, but visual structure, rhythm, and character. An object that knows its own shape and does not need to justify itself. At Stilmobili, we chose the Plissé because it represents exactly what we seek: objects capable of elevating the ordinary without making it unattainable. It is designed for those who harmonize the kitchen with the same care given to the living room, for those who consider the worktop a surface to be intentionally inhabited. The white fits naturally into both Nordic and minimalist spaces and the warmer, more tactile settings of contemporary Italian design. Project notes: 850W of power, dimensions 34 × 19 × 19 cm, in white thermoplastic resin. Version with a USA plug. Part of the Alessi collection, spring/summer lineup.
