Alessi — Plissé MDL061GRCH | Green De Lucchi electric kettle

There is something profoundly domestic about the act of putting water on to boil. Alessi's Plissé transforms it into a moment of quiet beauty. Its pleated surface - rigorous like a tailored suit, soft like a fold of fabric - captures and diffuses light differently from every angle and at every time of day. The green chosen for this version is not just any green: it is a rich, botanical shade that brings the memory of a winter garden into the kitchen. The black adapter seals the piece's character with a calibrated, almost typographic contrast. Michele De Lucchi designed the Plissé with the sensibility of someone who passed through Radical Design and Memphis before arriving at a poetry entirely his own, capable of reading everyday life as a territory rich in meaning. The pleated texture is not ornament for its own sake: it stems from a reflection on grip, tactility, and the relationship between hand and object. Designed for Alessi, the Plissé quickly entered the canon of contemporary Italian design as a successful example of function elevated into formal narrative. At Stilmobili, we chose it because it represents exactly what we look for: objects that bring a point of view into the world without compromising any practical requirement. It is the right kettle for those who furnish their kitchen with the same care they use when choosing a work of art, and for those who want to give something memorable without slipping into the predictable. Project notes: capacity 100 cl, power 2400W, thermoplastic resin body, dimensions 21 × 16 × 20 cm. Alessi autumn/winter collection.
