Alessi — Plissé MDL06 MDL06GR/UK | Green resin electric kettle

There is something almost sartorial about the Plissé. The pleated surface that runs across the body of the kettle is not an ornament for its own sake: it is a texture that interacts with light, changing appearance depending on the time of day and inviting the hand to brush against it before even touching it. In this green - rich, contemporary, capable of inhabiting a kitchen without disappearing into it - the thermoplastic resin achieves an almost tactile, almost textile quality. An everyday object that presents itself with the dignity of a collector's piece. Michele De Lucchi designs the Plissé with the consistency of someone who has always believed that industrial design can be, at the same time, storytelling and poetry. One of the most influential designers in the history of Italian design - a voice of the Memphis Movement in the 1980s, then founder of AMDL CIRCLE - De Lucchi brings to this kettle his ability to find the essential in form, without ever giving up warmth. The pleated pattern evokes the folds of Italian craftsmanship, translated, however, into an object conceived for production and real life. At Stilmobili, we chose the Plissé because it represents exactly what we look for: an object that transforms an ordinary gesture - boiling water - into a moment of aesthetic awareness. It is ideal for those who furnish their kitchen with the same care they use when choosing an outfit, for those who consider the worktop an expressive surface rather than merely a functional one. Project notes: capacity 1.7 litres, power 2400W, dimensions 21 × 16 × 29 cm. Available with a UK plug. Part of the Alessi Palinsesto autumn/winter collection.
