Alessi — Plissé MDL06 MDL06 G/CH | Gray De Lucchi resin kettle

There is something deeply domestic yet unexpected about the Plissé: a corrugated surface that captures the light differently at every hour of the day, transforming an everyday gesture - bringing water to a boil - into a small visual ritual. The gray thermoplastic resin imitates nothing: it is itself, compact and soft at the same time, with that pleated texture that calls to mind both couture fashion and organic architecture. In the hand, its form reveals itself to have been studied down to the smallest details: proportioned, stable, with a spout that pours with silent precision. The Plissé was born from the collaboration between Alessi and Michele De Lucchi, one of the most influential architects and designers on the contemporary Italian scene, who had already played a leading role in the Memphis movement in the 1980s and later developed a design path that successfully combined formal rigor with human warmth. With this kettle, De Lucchi brings to the kitchen his vision of objects capable of telling a story through their surface: the pleat is not applied decoration; it is structure, an aesthetic function that becomes identity. We at Stilmobili chose it because it perfectly embodies that rare and precious border between authorial design and an everyday object. It is ideal for those who furnish their kitchen with the same care with which they choose a work of art for the living room, and for those who do not want to give up a signature touch even in the most commonplace details. Perfect in a contemporary or minimalist setting, where the warm gray of the resin converses with concrete, natural wood, or steel surfaces. Project notes: 2400W of power, 1.7-liter capacity, dimensions 21×16×29 cm. End-of-line product, available with a Swiss plug. A piece not to be missed.
